Carlos Bejar, MD, is an American board certified internal medicine and Nephrologist physician practicing in Ft Lauderdale area since 1994.

Dr. Carlos Bejar completed his medical training at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in Canton, Ohio. He did both his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Subsequently, Dr. Bejar was offered a position as attending in Nephrology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. He is board certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine, in addition, is certified as a Specialist in Hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension/American Heart Association.

Dr. Bejar’s areas of interest include diabetic nephropathy and autoimmune disorders of the kidney. He also completed a special fellowship in renal stone management at Duke University and mini fellowship in renal sonography at Emory University. He has been honored with the “Top Doc” award for many years and “Top Nephrologist” in Boca Raton as well. Recently, he was recognized as a “Best Doctor” by both the New York Times and U.S. News and World Report.

Dr. Bejar is on the faculty at Nova Southeastern University School of Medicine and adjunct faculty at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he lectures medical students and residents in Nephrology. He has been Vice Chief of Staff at Broward Health Imperial Point. He has been named “Most Valuable Physician” of the quarter by IMPC, as well.

Dr. Bejar is recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), a non-profit organization, which assists 24 approved medical specialty boards in the development and use of standards in the ongoing evaluation and certification of physicians. ABMS, recognized as the “gold standard” in physician certification, believes higher standards for physicians means better care for patients.

Dr. Bejar has been a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) and has lectured nationally. He sits on the Medical Review Board for chronic kidney disease in the State of Florida Network 7.
