Jorge Ajuria, MD, is an American board certified internal medicine and Nephrologist physician practicing in Ft Lauderdale area since 2003.
Dr. Jorge Ajuria completed his medical training at Temple University, graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and his Fellowship in Nephrology at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. He is also Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology, by the ABMS.
Jorge Ajuria, MD, co-authored two chapters in Nephrology and Hematology textbooks on “Hemodialysis Membrane Compatibility” and “The Anemia of Chronic Kidney Disease”. Dr. Ajuria is a former Chief of Nephrology at Holy Cross Hospital. He is also a faculty member for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Residency Program at Holy Cross Hospital in Nephrology and an Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University Medical School, Division of Nephrology.
Dr. Ajuria’s special areas of interest include: anemia of kidney failure, HIV infection and kidney disease, renal complications of inflammatory bowel disease, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney failure due to drug toxicity, and management of complicated hypertension.
Dr. Ajuria is a native of Miami. He studied classical piano for 14 years and attended the Eastman School of Music while obtaining an undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester in upstate New York. Among his numerous awards are consistently being named “Top Doctor” in Nephrology by the prestigious Castle Connelly. He was also recently recognized as a “Top Performer” among “Best Doctors” by U.S. News and World Report.
In addition, he reviews prospective grants for the Campbell Foundation, which awards funding for AIDS research.
